In the things he has provided and presented to the world, God, the Lord Tommy L. Hart, has given the perfect faith: it (the faith) is perfect because the things he has provided fill the bill for the ideal, or perfect, faith set down in Hebrews 11:1. When I consider the man of sin mentioned in 2 Thes 2:3, that stated in 1Sam 28:14 happens - an old man comes up: old man is a descriptor of the man of sin. The man of sin is further described in 2Thes 2:3 and 4: a) in verse 3, the man of sin is called the son of perdition (damnation; utter destruction or ruin); b) the man of sin opposes God: as time goes on, we will see if that statement holds water; c) the man of sin sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God: so the man of sin has a temple from which he shows himself, and he presents himself as God; d) in Gen 27:2, the man of sin says, behold now, I am old; I know not the day of my death. As stated in 2Thes 2:3, the man of sin is to be revealed, and by applying the knowledge given in the descriptors, we can do just that. So the question is: who is this old man of sin? or simply, who is the old man in the temple? Other descriptors are given: e) 1Sam 28:14 - he is wearing a mantle; f) James 2:2 - he is a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel; g) James 2:3 - he wears gay clothing; h) in _______ he says, I dwell in the high and lofty place; i) 2Tim 1:11 - he says, I am a preacher, andd an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles; j) Luke 15:22 - bring forth the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet; k) Gen 17:4 and Rom 4:17 - he is a father of many nations; l) Eze 29:21, Eze 30:8,19 and 26 - he says, they shall know that I am the LORD: the old man admits to being the LORD. Now the Prov 30:9 question is raised: who is the LORD? The old man says in John 4:26, I that speak to thee am he. The old man says he is the LORD.
